The Federal Real Estate Agency (Bundesanstalt für Immobilienaufgaben/BImA) becomes subtenant in one of the two parts of the “publity Center” building. The rented area covers around 2,000 square meters and will be expanded to more than 3,000 square meters in a second step. The authority is the first tenant after publity AG initially sold the building to an investor.
As a federal institution with legal capacity under public law, the core tasks are the administration and exploitation of its properties according to commercial principles. It is therefore subject to the legal and specialist supervision of the Federal Ministry of Finance. It was founded in 2005 and is currently headed by Christoph Krupp (Social Democrat Party).
Federal real estate agency as a flexible Partner
Although the Federal Agency for Real Estate has so far only been a subtenant, there is the possibility of a special right of termination from publity AG of six weeks to the end of the month. This can be exercised for the first time on May 1, 2020. The consequence of the special right of termination is the takeover of all office space by the BImA.
“We are pleased that we have found a flexible and efficient solution for the space in the publity center in Leipzig before our rental agreement expires,” is quoted by CEO of publity AG Thomas Olek. “This takes into account the relocation of our company headquarters to Frankfurt am Main and thus the gradual relocation of most of the company’s divisions.” In Leipzig, one location will still be represented.
